Transition Berkeley brings neighbors and community members together to build a more equitable, regenerative, self-reliant future for Berkeley. We envision a strong, diverse local economy, with greatly reduced dependence on fossil fuels, and a healthy, cooperative, rewarding community life.

Transition
Berkeley
Transition Berkeley obtained 501c3 non-profit status in 2019, which has allowed us to apply for grants to develop some of our projects. Two funded projects include Repair Cafés and Repair Training and Native Plant Pollinator Gardens. The majority of our work, including crop swaps, educational events, collaborations with other groups, communications (website, newsletter, social media) and other outreach, is not funded, so your tax deductible donations are much appreciated.

Neighborhood Swapping and Sharing
MONDAY CROP SWAP & SHARE! In Ohlone Park
When: Every Monday evening from May 2 to September 26, 6:30pm
Where: West end of Ohlone Greenway across from North Berkeley BART, near the ball field.
This is a glorious opportunity to pass along any homemade goodies, seeds, seedlings, extra vegetable and fruit harvest. We ask you to take home things you brought if they are left over after the event.
If you don’t have anything to bring, that’s totally ok too - just come with your brilliant self and your desire to help foster a connected, regenerative community! There is always enough to go around!

Educational Events
Making a Difference
We host educational events usually featuring a film and guest partner, followed by a roundtable discussion, often in partnership with other non-profits, schools and municipal orgs. These events are meant to inform and inspire action and we welcome all to attend!
